After entering the university, I began to plan my career. I intended to study a master degree after I completed my undergraduate study, and then to be engaged in a job related to the information management in an enterprise. In accordance with this plan, I studied hard and participated in some projects related to my major. Finally, I successfully obtained the honor of ranking first in the tests of the major and comprehensive ability. But in this process, I always felt that my vision was so limited and my knowledge was insufficient, consequently, I needed to find a broader space but did not know what to do. At this time, a teacher inspired me. In the course of Object-oriented Programming & Application, Ke Juanqiong, an associated professor, recommended me a book named “Necessary but Not Sufficient”. After finishing reading, I began to understand that for an enterprise, the direct application of IT technology is far from enough and information management is a soft and highly integrated science. Besides, she also gave us some application examples and frontier of the domestic and foreign information system. All of these made me reflect on my initial ideas again and again. After a period of thinking, I found that what I should pursue is not just the application of the knowledge into the work, but the in-depth research about the information management and information system. As a result, I would like to be urgently committed to this research as well as a high-level promotion and improvement of the application of the IT technology in order to increase the overall value of the enterprises.
